The Malta Tourism Authority and its trade partners will be participating in EIBTM, the Global Meetings & Events Exhibition, taking place between the 27 – 29th November 2012 in Spain. We look forward to meeting you on the Malta Stand (K550). Malta offers much more than just an overseas business trip, where delegates are rushed from the hotel to the meeting room to the dining venue for more shop-talk in a ubiquitous setting. Visiting the Malta Stand (K550) at EIBTM will offer visitors a taste of Malta’s renowned hospitality, with Maltese delicacies being served at the stand allowing visitors to savour a small entrée to the ‘Maltese Experience’.
The Maltese Islands were established as a meetings venue long before the advent of tablets, smartphones and WiFi-enabled laptops! The pre-historic temples in Malta, Mnajdra and Hagar Qim (which translated from Maltese literally means ‘standing stones’), the much sought-after Hal-Saflini Hypogeum, as well as the Ggantija Temples in Gozo were utilised for ritualistic meetings by one of the world’s most ancient civilisations. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites date back to around 5,000 BC and are the oldest freestanding temples in the world.
