Ecuador at IMEX America 2013

The Ecuador Ministry of Tourism concluded a successful debut exhibition at IMEX America 2013 in Las Vegas, the largest meetings industry forum in North America. Ministry representatives and Ecuadorian exhibitors conducted meetings with more than 140 international buyers, with the participation of five industry partners.
“We have been thrilled to share Ecuador’s world-class meetings offering with the top buyers in the industry this week in our IMEX debut,” said Norma Bock, Director of MICE, Ecuador Ministry of Tourism. “Ecuador is pleased to showcase our latest developments at the premier industry event in North America.”
Partners presenting their meetings and conventions offering included EQ Touring, Klein Tours, Metropolitan Touring, Napo Wildlife Center and Quito Conventions Bureau, highlighting meetings and incentives offerings throughout the Galapagos Islands, Pacific Coast, Andes and Amazon.

“The buyers we met were very receptive and excited to learn about the exotic destinations that Ecuador has to offer,” said Bock. “Ecuador is increasing our presence in the meetings sector and this was an extraordinary opportunity for us to highlight the unique experiences and sophisticated infrastructure available in the country.”
With five major convention and exhibition centers, more than 21,800 hotel rooms in twenty-five leading hotels, and highly trained meeting planners in such leading destinations as Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca, Ecuador offers the infrastructure to host international meetings and is rapidly gaining recognition as a unique destination for the sector in South America.
